Can you breastfeed while pregnant? In most cases, yes. You should check with your doctor or midwife, however, if you are at risk of premature labour or have any pain or bleeding during pregnancy. Breastfeeding (nipple stimulation in general) induces the production of the hormones oxytocin, which produces milk, and prolactin, which causes the uterus to contract. Neither hormone should be a problem during a normal pregnancy.
It would seem that over the last several years there has been an explosion in the number of hangover cures / remedies / preventatives and after a while of bumping into them in various places, I got curious as to what made these products tick. Plus, I am an avid supporter of ‘Wine Wednesday’, a blog hop I feel like I invented and if I didn’t I should have, and I am thanking the one who did…

Several of our readers have requested a reprint of this recipe from last year. So here it comes. You know, I never fully believed that you could make a cake without flour until I tried a few that rattled my cake-like cage. So, if you really enjoy a deep, dark, decadent delight, this is the recipe for you. Here we have a yummy grain free/gluten free cake that one of my fellow mama bloggers turned me onto. I’ve made a few, (okay more than a few), changes to make it how we like it, but the concept is the same! Bon Appetit!
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
I use my Kitchen Aid (lilac colored) stand mixer. Mix the below ingredients together, however best suits you.
♦♦ 1/2 cup peanut butter
♦♦ 1/2 cup almond butter
♦♦ 6 Tbsp salted organic butter
♦♦ 1/4 cup honey, more as needed (start with (more…)
Loads of mommies have been asking me about gDiapers Little gPants, so I am finally getting a chance to review them for you. Now that Lyryk is almost 3 and potty learned for ‘pee-pee’ we only use our ‘Oui Gees’ (pronounced wee gee’s) for ‘number 2′. That’s right – you read it here. She will NOT, under any circumstances, ‘go’ in her potty (see review of the potty she loves!) if it requires thought or much effort. She prefers the ease of her lil g’pants and a cloth insert, which she will bring me when she has to, you know… ‘go’.
Mind you, we have been g’diaper users since she was born. We had them all set and ready to go. But we only used them when we were out of the house. We had Dy Dee diaper service for the first few months (a gift that did NOT (more…)
Now I can be found on Twyla, Tribrr and EA, not just Twitter, Facebook, My (wordpress/thesis) Blog, (you are here) and eMail, (which is becoming as scarce as a payphone on some days, as you can connect in less than 140 characters, so why bother?), and [formerly] MySpace. (beat) I am just not into ‘Linking In’, too… I mean, to what? I think we’ve hit pure saturation point. Too many social networks spread you too thin, sap your time, they take you away from more productive activities, and can ultimately remove you from genuine, physical social interaction.
I’m a complete tech whore. I have had more Mac’s than I can remember, (still have a soft spot for my 540C powerbook), love camera gear and photography, used to be ultra knowledge filled on cell phones (until even they became smarter than me), that ended with my Palm Treo, I fear. So, (more…)
While there are many benefits to breast feeding your infant it is not always necessarily the best option. In a bid to increase breast feeding rates in Australia experts have suggested that infant formula be available through prescription only. That includes going to the doctors getting a prescription then going to the local pharmacist and getting the formula made up.
From humble beginnings … Christmas 1969.
Seventeen-year-old Mike Kittredge, too broke to buy his mother a present, melted some crayons to make her a candle. A neighbor saw it and convinced Mike to sell the candle to her. With that small stake, bought enough wax to make two candles – one for his mom, and another to sell. That was the birth of Yankee Candle®.
